The Taiwan Executive Yuan will approve the amendments of “The Act for the Recruitment and Employment of Foreign Professionals” (The “Act”) on the 15th in strengthening the recruitment of Foreign Professionals by extending the tax incentives from three years to five years for foreign special professionals. Despite the lack of experiences, fresh graduates from the world's top 500 universities will be waived to the condition of two years working experiences if they are willing to directly come and work in Taiwan.
The amendment of the Act shall further ease the employment and residence related restrictions, which relaxes the criteria for obtaining the permanent residence for foreign professionals and foreign special professionals. Approvals will also be allowed for applying one-year residence extension before the expiry date. As for foreign special professionals, number of years for working in Taiwan has been reduced from five years to three years. Foreign students studying Master or PhD degrees could apply their school duration terms as residence period if staying in Taiwan after graduation by reducing to one to two years...
